T-minus 24 hours

The procedure has been described to me by adult tonsillectomy veterans as more painful than, “3 natural childbirths,” “blunt-force stab wound,” “Broken nose,” “broken arm,” “any injury you can possibly sustain.” So, as you can imagine I am very excited for my upcoming weeks of recovery. Apparently your nerve endings in your throat must increase exponentially while passing puberty, because children can bounce right back. You give ‘em a hug & a popcicle and they are back to school the next day. Adults take 10 days just to be able to talk again. Awesome!

Luckily Neil is currently unemployed and can be at my beckon call. (Lucky, lucky Neil.) I think at this point he’s more nervious than I am. Three cheers for no tonsils! Hip-hip hooray.
Neil –
PROMISE you will call upon us for help if you need it.
I spent amny a night rocking and spoon feeding jello to sick kids, so I am well qualified!!!
ryan called me from school today to tell me he was thinking about your surgery tomorrow, so you guys aren’t the only ones who have it on the brain
sorry bout how that “blunt force stab wound” comparison. that was inhumane.
i am frequently bored and live six blocks away. you need a popsicle, i’m your guy.
Oy. Is the pronunciation of the website for the first picture actually, “Oww” ’cause that would be quite funny/fitting. I’m definitely willing to come watch movies with you silently..Maybe if I don’t talk you won’t be tempted to talk. OR- I could teach you some sign language skills…those always come in handy.
Actually not true, a friend of mine had both a tonsillectomy and calcium deposits in her heals (or something foot related). She said the tonsillectomy was the 2nd most painful thing she has experienced, next to the foot surgery to remove the foot-related things. So thank your lucky stars…at least your not having foot surgery.
Kate and I just got back from the hospital. The doc said everything went perfect, not one hangup to mention. Kate is sleeping in bed, but will probable be up soon ready for a lick of her Novocaine lollipops.
