Afghan Grill
The maiden voyage of the PIG Project was to Afghan Grill in Woodley Park, DC. and we have earned our Afghani Merit Badge!
We were joined with some gourmet company, Adam, Thelma, Jill, and Jane.
I had the Kadu Buranee, a delicious sautéed pumpkin dish topped with garlic yogurt and sauce.
Neil had the Badenjan Chalao, eggplant sautéed with onion, garlic and tomato, with lamb.
The dishes were so flavorful and the company a delight.
It was an excellent kick-off to the PIG Project!
1 down, 195 to go!

A few facts about Afghanistan:
- Iraq & Afghanistan make an Iran sandwich
- Its location connecting the Middle East with Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent makes it an important geostrategic location
- Social activist, and food blogger, Humaira has a blog about Afghan culture and food that looks delicious
- The official languages of Afghanistan are Dari and Pashto

Afghan food is really good tasting. Too bad it will be 4 years before we can go back after we finish Zimbabwe.
My question is, what letter will you be one in the last week of May??? Hopefully not England. That food is crappy. Not a fan of Ethiopian, either. Get past the “E”s before we come, eh?
We will be on Belarus or Belgum. We won’t get to the ‘E’s’ until the end of the year or early 2013.
This food looks great and what a fun idea!
