Things for sale that I will mail you

If you give me $1,266 I will go to an EZLN community in Chiapas, Mexico and send you a genuine, handmade rebel doll (don’t worry, I’ve been there before, I know where to go). I will send it from there.

Hi Kate and Neil,
You can buy those dolls in the airport in Tuxtla for a couple of dollars, and the travel to Chiapas costs about $6-700. Why do you make it sound like such a big deal? I’ve got a few in my office that I could sell you for twenty bucks each. Or I could direct you to the Zapatista web page and you could order them on line.

Stan, Stan, Stan… it is imperative that you look at the link under “genius” to really get the beauty of this idea. If someone were to order a doll from the Zapatista website that would NOT involve me traveling to Mexico at all, now would it. I am living in Utah. It’s so cold. I could really use a trip to Chiapas.
With my husband, of course.
How much would it cost me to pay you to fly to Tucson, Arizona, buy me some El Charro carne seca and bring it home to me?
I will fly to Tucson and get your carne seca for $256. A bargain at twice the price.
how about this:
For $2,000 I will marry David Horovitz without ever even seeing his face.
For $4,000 I will marry him even if he is already married.
On second thought, change that to $1.
How much would you charge to go into WalMart and buy a pair of Nikes?
The Nikes trip is gonna cost you. How about this? For $472* dollars I will fly to Bentonville and attempt to break into the main Walmart complex to steal some Nikes in just your size.
(* plus any legal fees incurred)
LOL. That’s a bargain! If it weren’t for that little * I would probably take you up on it.
Kate,
Ah, now I get it. So, in case someone does take you up on it let me know. I just got back from Chiapas and it is indeed lovely. I live in Massachusetts, which is occasionally even colder than Utah.
By the way, click on my web page above and you’ll see a few pics of my trip to Chiapas last year.
