  1. Ouch, wowza! That was really scathing! I guess, my hope is that having the first black president opens our eyes to social injustice. Maybe because he is a minority, he can expose some of those problems in a way that someone else could not?

    I see value in expressing this kind of frustration with our democratic process, but I must admit, I’m a naive hope filled girl that cried during President-elect Obama’s acceptance speech.

  3. Betsey. You are awesome. It seriously felt so awful to be so down-in-the-dumps when all of the black Obama supporters in the other room at election central were literally dancing and rejoicing. But, I think Ashley really puts wonderful words to my disappointment and helped me articulate why I felt like such a kill-joy on election night.
    She’s a real piece of work that Ashley Sanders.
